Belinda Campbell Comninos
Belinda thrives in delivering solutions in challenging and dynamic environments that enrich and improve communities. Belinda has cultivated a refined skillset in human centred design, engagement, research and policy development for large-scale projects and strategies with the interest of the end-user at the forefront.
Since joining Astrolabe, Belinda has been using this lens to provide support to projects, allowing a deeper understanding of users. Belinda informed the Liverpool City Council’s Innovation Strategy through co-design with key external stakeholders and design thinking workshops with staff.
She has informed key projects on the use of early user input and co-design opportunities, including facilitating design thinking strategy workshops.
Belinda was the project lead in the development of key insights from the City of Sydney’s engagement activities for their next Community Strategic Plan, which is being used as the basis for further deliberative decision making with their stakeholders.
Belinda led the development of UNSW's first Disability Action Plan that involved multiple stakeholders across the University. As a Senior Ministerial Advisor in the portfolios of disability services, ageing, small business and tourism in the NSW State Government, Belinda is particularly proud of her approach to exploring new policy direction with stakeholders and front line staff including innovative accommodation options for people with disability.
Belinda continues to develop a contemporary practice in user focused policy design. She is an alumni of Stanford University’s d.school in systems thinking and design and has studied with the Centre for Social Impact at UNSW.
Belinda is on the Management Committee of Hibiscus Committee Preschool in Daceyville, NSW. She loves to spend her weekends watching her kids play sport and is on an ambitious book reading challenge for 2019.
