Andy West


Andy is a seasoned integration specialist with 20 years of experience designing and delivering fit-for-purpose, mission-critical solutions to the communications industry. In that time, he has assisted numerous Tier-1 mobile operators across the globe integrate new value-added services, as well as transition away from the traditional circuit, switched to all-IP architectures.

Some project experience:

  • Project lead for a Smart City Transport Project with Willoughby Council exploring innovative solutions to tackling traffic congestion and parking
  • Expert support and advice to establish a 5G Test Lab by the City of Melbourne. Delivered tutorial material on 5G and data sharing, established a Partnering Framework with Industry, and created a Data Sharing Policy an Procedure for their Lab and Partners.
  • In partnership with iMOVE Cooperative Research Centre, mapped the local market’s capability and capacity to support the use of connected, autonomous, electric and shared vehicles in Australia over the next decade.

Since emigrating to Australia in 2012, Andy has assisted Government, Accademia and Enterprise clients understand and apply new technologies to deliver innovative solutions in Healthcare, Cyber Security, Communications & IoT.

Active in the Start-up community as a Founder and Mentor, he also assists high-technology producers to tailor their offering to meet the real needs of the market as well as achieve growth through Capital Raising, Business Development, and Sales.

As a Technical Adviser to Cities, Andy works with clients to understand the nuances of integrating multiple, stand-alone solutions into a City-wide infrastructure. Utilizing good engineering practices, he assists cities on the step by step journey from Requirement to Delivery.

Andy has been a contributing member of the IoT Alliance Australia (IoTAA) and is an active member of the Australian Computer Society’s Data Sharing Taskforce.

Andy is the proud coach of the Newport Breakers U7’s mini rugby team.
