The demand for water in data centres is primarily driven by the need to cool servers and computing hardware that generate substantial levels of heat when operating. Without a coordinated approach to water infrastructure, the ambition to attract investment, position Sydney as the data centre capital of the Asia Pacific and ensure infrastructure needs of communities are not impacted, will be constrained by the very systems it depends on.
