Located on the doorstep of the new Western Sydney International Airport, Bradfield City will become a vibrant urban hub for Western Sydney’s diversity of people, talent and businesses: providing new highly skilled jobs and industry growth that will add to Liverpool’s already thriving economy.
With this growth in mind, Council identified the need to provide structured assurance over key areas of growth, financial exposure and external dependencies through an independent audit approach to consider current state and emerging risks.
Council engaged Astrolabe to undertake an audit to assess how effectively Council has positioned itself strategically, operationally and financially to manage its future obligations and work with other parts of government associated with Bradfield and the Airport.
We undertook the audit through a point in time readiness lens to identify strengths, gaps and future risks. We undertook assessment based on terms of reference including the scope of the audit which included the following areas:
We established a methodology which included an evaluation of relevant Council documentation and engagement across relevant areas of Council to develop our findings recommendations.
The final report presented to Council demonstrated areas for consideration, including opportunities and risks they will need to address to ensure Council is able to adequately meet the demands of a growing local government area.
