The NSW Government has committed to building the NSW innovation and technology ecosystem and is working with ecosystem stakeholders to produce an Innovation Blueprint to guide support for the sector.
To progress the development of the Blueprint, engagement was held with NSW innovation ecosystem leaders with a state summit, series of roundtables, and Have Your Say survey.
Stakeholders included C-suite executives and representatives from industry bodies, universities and think tanks, corporate businesses, startups, venture capital and angel investors, innovation precinct representatives, and Federal, State, and local government Representatives.
Investment NSW engaged Astrolabe Group to help design and facilitate the Summit and topic-and industry-specific roundtables, each attended by the Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology.
Astrolabe developed the design of the Summit and the eight roundtable discussions.
To support all stakeholders delivering and participating in the events we created tools including discussion prompts, runsheets, event playbooks, briefing notes, facilitation guides and facilitated both face to face and online engagement.
We provided an internal Outcomes Summary Report reflecting the sentiments recorded and insights captured during the Summit and roundtables, including case studies and recommendations for change.
We also provided drafting support for the public-facing What We Heard report, detailing the engagement reach and summary of recurring themes across the engagement process.
The NSW Innovation Blueprint was launched in 2025 with four strategic goals and five key action areas, aimed at creating more economic and social opportunities.
